8-day forward rotation

Continental shift pattern: two mornings, two lates, two nights, two off.

The Continental shift pattern in ShiftFlowr rotates forward through three shift types before a two-day rest block.

The app uses your saved times for each shift type, so regional labels and exact start times can differ while the order remains Early, Late, Night, Off.

Continental is a family of schedules, not one universal cycle. This page and the built-in preset refer specifically to the eight-day 2-2-2-2 version.

Compare all eight days against an employer-issued rota before you apply future months. A useful check is to find the first morning, the first night, and the first rest day in one known cycle. If those three dates match the preview, the sequence and anchor are aligned. If your site inserts extra rest days or uses a longer continental rotation, reproduce the published sequence with a custom pattern.

Why the anchor matters

Select Continental

The preset already contains all three shift types.

Choose cycle day one

Use the first day of your current morning-shift block.

Verify the transitions

Check morning-to-late, late-to-night, and the rest block in preview.

Continental FAQ

Does ShiftFlowr assume 8-hour shifts?
The preset uses your configured Early, Late, and Night times. The 42-hour average shown here assumes eight-hour shifts.
What if my Continental rota uses four rest days?
That is a different variant. Reproduce its exact sequence in the custom pattern builder.
